From musical theatre and pop music to graphic storytelling and documentary film, Breathe’s projects use different creative forms to explore shared human questions. Each project stands on its own while contributing to a broader commitment to connection, empathy and meaningful conversation.
Our work engages with identity, mental health, human rights, social justice and the environment through stories designed to move audiences first.
Theater
Wild Child
Wild Child is an original, pop-driven musical about two teenagers whose online friendship is tested when they meet in person at a wilderness program. Funny, moving and ultimately hopeful, it explores identity, belonging, friendship and what can happen when the noise falls away.
Following a June 2026 developmental workshop with Penn State Musical Theatre at Penn State Centre Stage, Wild Child will receive its first full production at Laguna Playhouse from September 9 through October 4, 2026.

Roses / Half Full
Born from the world of Wild Child, Roses is an enigmatic Desi pop artist who collages her identity from fragments of a past she is still reworking. Her debut single, “Half Full,” arrived on June 24, 2025, setting the tone for her debut album of the same name, released in fall 2025.
Having spent the last few years learning to live on her own terms, Roses brings that journey to Half Full, an album that glows with lived experience without lingering in the dark. Its songs move through struggle, healing and self-discovery while reclaiming joy on her own terms.
Half Full is more than a debut album. It is the opening chapter in Roses’ evolving story.

Born from Darin’s inner world in Wild Child, The Adventures of Kiton follows a boy who inherits his father’s armor — and the grief, expectations and fractured legacy that come with it. By night, he becomes Kiton: powerful, unstoppable and adored. By day, he is Darin, still trying to understand who he is without the armor.
Written by Richard Fairgray and illustrated by Joy Fu, the graphic novel expands the Wild Child universe through cinematic, mythic storytelling about loss, identity and courage.

Who I Am Not
Who I Am Not follows two intersex South Africans, Sharon-Rose Khumalo and Dimakatso, as they navigate identity, friendship and life in a binary world. The acclaimed documentary has screened internationally and was featured on PBS’s POV.
El Canto de las Manos (Song of the Hands)
Directed by María Valverde, El Canto de las Manos (Song of the Hands) follows three Deaf Venezuelan musicians as they prepare to perform Beethoven’s Fidelio in sign language under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel. The film explores music as sound, movement, language and community — and the human desire to be heard.
MOFAYA
Mofaya follows Congolese musician Mermans “Mofaya” Mosengo, who fled violence and crossed Africa in search of safety and a future. Music became both his livelihood and his spiritual passport, carrying his story to audiences around the world.
Directed by Jesse Bernstein, the feature documentary traces an extraordinary journey of displacement, resilience, community and creative survival.
