María Valverde | Documentary Filmmaker

Maria is an actress, director, and producer. She was discovered by director Manuel Martín Cuenca to star in The Weakness of the Bolshevik, for which she won the Goya Award for Best New Actress. Since then, she has appeared in nearly thirty films, including titles such as: Cracks, directed by Jordan Scott; Melissa P., directed by Luca Guadagnino; Three Steps Above Heaven; Exodus: Gods and Kings, directed by Ridley Scott; Guernica; The Limehouse Golem; Plonger, directed by Mélanie Laurent; Fever Dream, by Claudia Llosa; Spider, directed by Andrés Wood; and Sounds Like Love, by Juana Macías. She will star in the upcoming film by Alberto Arvelo, with whom she previously worked on The Liberator.
